This week's list is the Memorial Day Edit. Not an ad, just things we are loving in real life, from one parent to another.
Laird Superfood Peruvian Dark Roast Coffee. Monday is a day off of work (for most of you). I encourage you to take a slow morning and drink your coffee while it's hot - not lukewarm or downright cold. I love this coffee from Laird Superfood, plus you'll love supporting this company committed to sustainability and (cool fact) was co-founded by Laird Hamilton, the surfer.
I love awesome recommendations to follow fantastic people on Instagram. So, I would like to recommend Caitlin of @thekindredginger. She is a military spouse and she often talks about her military family life - it's challenges and it's beauty. Her recent Reel about the true meaning of Memorial Day will help you find the right words and the right ways to honor the men and women who have died serving our country. Give her a follow. You'll love all she shares!
This article on History.com is a great place to start to learn about the history of Memorial Day. Give it a read.
MOVIE NIGHT FEATURE:
Band of Brothers. Released in 2001 this epic HBO mini-series follows the men of Easy Company from training through their service in Europe during World War II. To me, this is the series you watch all Memorial Day weekend. If you haven't watched it or if it's been years since you first watched it, I recommend watching it again. I also say let your kids join you if you feel they are old enough to watch.
This version of Parent to Parent is by Nichole Healy who loves a "listicle" featuring real life recommendations, so she created her own just for parents.
