The weekly scoop on some categories filling our family life. A mix of things for mom and dad and for the kids too. Not an ad, just things we are loving in real life, from one parent to another.
Dry Farms Wine. Now, this one is obviously for the parents. This is a wine box subscription service that curates natural wines that meet specific criteria - organically grown, lab tested for purity, sugar free and no additives. Biggest benefit: my husband and I can share a bottle with dinner and not feel the negative effects of the wine next day. Biggest downside: It's like Forrest Gump says: life is like a box of chocolates, but in this case it's wine. You never know what you're gonna get. BUT, you can contact Dry Farms and they will replace any wine you do not enjoy. Win/win. My favorite? The orange wines.
The Harry Potter Series on Audible. We have a 35 minute drive to school every morning, so we fill that time with podcasts and audio books and sometimes Spotify. Recently we finished the Harry Potter series, all of which are read by Jim Dale. (If anything you should listen to Harry Potter on Audible just to hear him.)The boys and I were obsessed. And I feel quite accomplished that I passed my love of Harry Potter on to my children. Oh, and, my suggestion, make it a rule: you cannot watch the movie until you finish the book. (Recommend that your children are at least 7 or 8 to listen).
We Should All be Millionaires by Rachel Rodgers. A Woman's Guide to Earning More, Building Wealth, and Gaining Economic Power. The subtitle is powerhouse. Just started this one and loving it. This is Rachel's first book. I recommend following her on Instagram and listening to her podcast Hello7.
MOVIE NIGHT FEATURE:
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. If you get to know me, you'll learn quickly, that I am a big movie fan and I'm passing this love on down to my children. Every Friday, we grab a pizza and have movie night. We call Friday nights "Pizza Pie-Day." (get it? instead of Pizza Fri-Day, *Pie* Day? We think we are clever). Anyway, we are constantly looking for good family movies. As we are all still obsessed with Harry Potter, we watched Fantastic Beasts. This series takes place before Harry Potter is born and Albus Dumbledore is a teacher at Hogwarts and not yet Headmaster. The fun part is the story takes place in the magical community in America, where you will find things are a bit different. This one is fun to watch for the imaginative creatures and the world Newt Scamander creates for them inside of his briefcase. Truly magical.
